Last weeks lecture and lesson was around assessment . As I already have my assessors qualification the session was a good recap and reminder for me on the types of assessment and ways in which to assess.
I find assessment is a good way to of knowing where your students are at and how to develop them further, it is important to recognise how to use assessment as a developing tool for students and not be seen as a target or outcome which needs to be achieved. It is crucial to involve your learner in assessments as they can see themselves developing and understand what more is required to achieve the relevant standards. Assessment can bring out learner strengths and weaknesses which can then be overcome.
